Tetrahedrite





There sure is a lot going on here! Various minerals adjorn this sample, including quartz and a few crystals of chalcopyrite, however the most abundant and darkest mineral is tetrahedrite. Tetrahedrite gets its name because it often times forms nice tetrahedrons, a few of them are visible in this sample. The whole sample is about 4 inches long and comes from Huarochiri Province, Lima Department, Peru.
